Get to Know the Management Team
James Barrett is the director and owner of JB Construction. He has been in the construction industry for 12 years, beginning his self-employment journey eight years ago. With experience in domestic renovations, extensions, and new builds, he has developed a wealth of expertise as a general builder. Recently completing his SMSTS site management qualifications, James is a key leader at JB Construction. He is committed to ensuring every project meets high standards with careful attention to detail and is well known for his can-do, positive attitude.
Martyn Bodily is the other senior foreman, bringing 42 years of experience to JB Construction. Knowledgeable, dependable, and highly experienced, he is a key member of the team. Jamie relies heavily on Martyn for his calm demeanor and methodical approach to managing the sites under his supervision. With his recently completed SMSTS site management qualifications, combined with his deep understanding of the trade, Martyn ensures that every project under his care is completed with skill and precision.
Sophie Mitchell-Smith is Jamie's better half and partner in the business. She’s the brains behind the computer, ensuring everything runs smoothly. From client communications to technical documentation and overall organization, Sophie is always ready to assist in keeping business operations on track. Starting in 2025, she will be working from the newly constructed JB office!
